The Spinnaker was part of a brief to capture the essence of Portsmouth Harbour. Probably better known as a naval base and its historic ships, Portsmouth Harbour Authority needed a promotional film highlighting its other commercial attractions and activities namely passenger ferries to Northern France, the Isle of Wight and Spain; and commercial freight traffic including container ships from destinations across the world and HGV traffic from France. The Spinnaker dominates the mouth of the harbour, and was used to introduce the film with Portsmouth Harbour as a backdrop.
